Readiness Package Course

This is organised in a virtual package comprising an e-learning module, 4 days of live remote classroom, simulations, access to ChamberCustoms knowledge base, access to post-course examples and support.  

Delegates: professionals who will need to complete import and export declarations with EU or 3rd countries.  

Course pre-requisites: a general understanding of international trade basics

Level 1 module: “Export Customs Intermediary

This course is the first of two levels of Customs Intermediary operations training and is delivered as a 2-day intensive module.  Level 1 includes a pre-course online e-learning module and the 2-day live technical training module.

Level 1 module contents, focussing on Export:

Customs Intermediary rules and regulations:

o   Customs Declarations and trade statistics

o   The UK Tariff Volumes 1-3

o   Tariff classification at export

o   Harmonised System

o   Export Custom Procedure Codes

o   HMRC CHIEF and CDS overview

o   Penalties for non-compliance

Export declarations requirements 

o   Entry requirements box by box and ChamberCustoms Export module

o   Inputting declarations on specialised software

o   Additional checks and Licensing controls

o   Tariff Measures 

o   Post clearance amendments 

The course is structured interactively, with plenty of space for practical application. You will have the opportunity to practice inputting export declarations on the training system working from set scenarios, with the support of the trainers.

Although a commercial software will be used, the course is agnostic to a specific supplier. You will be able to use any commercially available software to file your declarations.  

 

Level 2 module: “Import Customs Intermediary

This course is the second of two levels of Customs Intermediary operation training, and is delivered as a 2-day intensive module.  Level 1 is a pre-requisite to Level 2. This module includes the 2-day technical training module, simulations and support.

Level 2 module contents, focussing on Import:

Customs Intermediary rules and regulations

o   Customs Declarations and trade statistics

o   The UK Tariff Volumes 1-3

o   Tariff classification at import

o   Import Custom Procedure Codes

o   HMRC CHIEF and CDS overview

o   Penalties for non-compliance

Import declarations requirements 

o   Import specific requirements box by box and ChamberCustoms Import module

o   Accessing inventory systems. The Community Systems Providers

o   Additional checks and Licensing controls

o   Tariff Measures

o   Calculating duty and Duty Valuation build-up

o   Claiming preference

o   Valuation methods (1-6)

o   Vat value adjustment

o   Tax lines

o   Post clearance amendments

It is recommended that candidates attend Level 1 and Level 2 in succession. 

Level 3 module: “Export/Import advanced Customs Intermediary

This course provides you with 12 weeks access to a self-directed learning path. Using ChamberCustoms test system, you will be working on advanced simulations, following topic-specific webinars, and expand your skills using our online knowledgebase. The objective is to allow learners to put the knowledge and skills they have learned on Levels 1 and 2 into practice.  This helps to embed learning through directed simulations in a ‘real-time’ test environment and to build confidence to operate in a live environment.  Levels 1 and 2 are a pre-requisite to Level 3.  

Level 3 module contents:

o   Introduction to the CSPs (Sea, Road and Air cargo)

o   Claiming inventory – the basics

o   Using Deferred payments

o   Using Flexible Accounting System payments

o   Special procedures

o   Declaring Additional Information and Documents 

ADVANCED SIMULATIONS

o   15 Export simulations with detailed solutions

o   15 Import simulations with detailed solutions

Access to our support helpdesk and experts

Through this package, you will have the opportunity to practice inputting export and import declarations on the training system working from set scenarios, with the support of the helpdesk and our experts. 

This package is only available to people who have followed ChamberCustoms Levels 1 and 2 

Assessment: a formal assessment will be undertaken once the candidate has completed the course and post-course simulations.
