The UK Government, under the leadership of Rishi Sunak, engaged in negotiations with the EU that culminated in The Windsor Framework. This framework was developed to address the persistent challenges that were impeding the implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol. The principle behind this agreement was to better facilitate the movement of goods to, from, and through Northern Ireland.
The framework introduces Red and Green lanes. Goods at risk of moving to the Republic of Ireland will be required to pass through the red lane and adopt full customs controls and associated formalities. Goods destined for Northern Ireland will avoid full customs formalities by passing through the green lane.
We invite you to join our webinar, where we’ll be unpacking The Windsor Framework. We'll delve into the fine print, discuss the remaining controversy, and explain how this whole deal practically affects businesses that are trading or moving goods.
